We are excited to announce that we will be holding online events during welcome week at King's College London! During these events you will be able to find out more about the work that we do at European Horizons at KCL and how you can get involved.
Stay tuned for more information.
For our very first research paper here at the KCL Chapter, we will be analysing the process from protest to policy change in Europe and the United States. The paper will go through the steps of analysing the formation and structure of protest and the determining factors that lead to demands of protesters being honoured. The paper will take us through sections on technological, economic and political circumstances, focusing mainly on policy change through protesting in the light of these various factors. In addition, we also want to stress the value of protests as a way for people to exercise their freedoms. Therefore we focus, throughout the paper, on how government intervention can stand in the way of this essential freedom.
We are excited to announce our upcoming panel discussion with Project Access on the impact of Brexit and COVID-19 on educational inequalities in higher education. Speakers from our Chapter Board include Iman Shaikh, Monica Richards and Erona Tasholli.
The date of the event is to be confirmed, but will be around mid-August. More information will be distributed via our social media platforms.
Over the course of the Series, we’ll be hearing from speakers and professionals from various industries with different experiences, who’ll talk to us about their professional careers and how they got their start, as well as considering how transatlantic policies and politics influence all sectors — not just the political. So, we’re super excited to officially kick off the Series with our first event:
Our debut online event will be featuring Jawad Shaikh, who is currently a Senior VP at Roland Berger — the leading global consultancy firm of European origin. Jawad has over 20 years of management consultancy and corporate experience, with a particular focus on digital business and telecommunications. The event will have an exclusive Q&A discussion slot, so send us any questions you have! See you there — Tuesday 28th July at 16:00 BST/17:00 CET. More details about tickets & sign-ups to follow so stay tuned and save the date :)
